The Prelude
Well, it’s that time of year again! Twinkling garlands are hanging above the chilly streets, lovers are snuggling up in front of the TV, Prime Minister Hugh Grant is shaking his booty at 10 Downing Street… wait, sorry, that’s just the plot from Love Actually. Anyways, you know what I mean- It’s CHRISTMAS TIME!!! December is one of my favorite months of the year- the streets light up with sparkling decorations. There are cute holiday stalls selling warm drinks and knick-knacks. Parents are awkwardly carrying home sticky Christmas trees that are inevitably going to be too big for their apartment. Netflix has a million B-level Christmas movies where the overworked city girl finds true, flannely love with the Brawny man in rural Minnesota…AHH, it’s the best.
There is one hard part of the holiday season, however. And that is Christmas shopping. Now don’t get me wrong, I LOVE shopping, especially Christmas shopping, because it’s the opportunity to surprise your loved ones with something truly special. However, it can be a little difficult getting it right. There’s a lot of pressure, you know? It’s not just a regular present transaction where the giver and the receiver are involved in the exchange- EVERYONE is involved.
